N-STEP is partnered with United Way of Central Maryland for the Aberdeen Neighbors United (NU) Initiative. The NU project is to build resident capacity to address upstream issues. Such an investment in neighborhoods inspires hope, unity, and change - transitioning impacted neighborhoods into thriving communities.
In decision making, including identifying an issue of concern, mobilizing to take appropriate action, and providing support for ongoing involvement in their communities.
Who have the capacity to assume leadership roles in their communities and to represent their communities to external decision makers.
To work together and with community residents to develop and implement a work plan for the project.
To develop relationships and interest to support the community’s approach to addressing the identified problem.
N-STEP held our first community forum last night at TB3 in Aberdeen. The community forum was supported by local church leaders, residents, and United Way of Central Maryland grant team. United Way of Central Maryland is investing in your community, join us in making positive changes. This initiative is community -led with the needs and priorities of residents at the center and prioritized.
